Typvs occasionis : in qvo receptae commoda, neglectæ vero incommoda, personato schemate proponvntvr. Non sine privilegio
An emblem book by the Flemish Jesuit Joannes David, printed about 1600 by Jacob Honervogt in Cologne for readers meditating on Occasion, or opportunity seized and lost. Each plate is a copperplate engraving set in a scrolled border, with allegorical crowds keyed by letters: winged demons and hybrid beasts, doublet-clad soldiers and fools, robed personifications with scythes and banners, and God or angels above in ruled clouds; useful for allegorical figure groups, ornamental frames, and lettered diagram conventions.
