Ueber Erfindung, Construction und Vortheile der Bohlen-Dächer : mit besonderer Rücksicht auf die Urschrift ihres Erfinders
David Gilly's 1797 Berlin treatise, published by Friedrich Vieweg, explains the laminated plank roof (Bohlendach) derived from Philibert de l'Orme's writings, addressed to architects, master carpenters and building officials. The engraved plates give sections, elevations and plans of trusses and arched rib roofs in fine outline with grey and buff wash, keyed by letters, alongside details of bolted curved rib segments and setting-out geometry—useful for line-drawn structural diagrams, timber joint motifs and plate layouts.
