A posthumous German treatise on training for the practice and enjoyment of art by the painter Heinrich Ludwig, edited from his papers by Joseph August Beringer and Paul Knapp and issued in Strasbourg by J. H. E. Heitz in 1907 for art teachers and administrators. The plates here are printer's and publisher's material rather than fine art: a winged female figure on a plinth framed by strapwork cartouches with grotesque beasts, and an arched Art Nouveau advertisement page for the Bibliotheca Romanica series, useful as mark-and-frame reference and for period type-and-ornament layout.
