Uitbreiding, over honderd leerzaame zinnebeelden
A Dutch emblem book of a hundred moralizing devices, written by Claas Bruin with engravings by Jacobus Schijnvoet and A. van der Laan, published by Hendrik Bosch in Amsterdam in 1722 for readers of instructive verse. Each plate is a circular medallion in fine engraved line, its Latin motto curving along the rim around small landscapes of trees, rocks, water, tombs and radiating suns, useful as ready-made roundel frames, lettered arcs and compact hatched scenery.
