Uitbreiding, over honderd leerzaame zinnebeelden
A Dutch emblem book of a hundred moralized devices, written by Claas Bruin with engravings by Jacob Schijnvoet and A. van der Laan, published in Amsterdam by Hendrik Bosch in 1722 for readers who paired verse with pictures for instruction. Each plate is a small circular medallion holding a landscape — a vine-wrapped tree, a spiderweb strung between rocks, waves under slanting sun rays — ringed by a Latin motto in curved capitals, with fine engraved hatching for sky and water; useful for roundel devices, radiating-sun motifs, and curved display lettering.
