Une famille d'artistes brestois au XVIIIe siècle: les Ozanne
A study by Charles Auffret, published in Rennes in 1891, of the Ozanne family of Brest — Nicolas-Marie, Pierre, Jeanne Françoise and Marie Jeanne — naval draughtsmen and engravers to the eighteenth-century French fleet, written for antiquarians and print collectors. Reproductions of their pen etchings show rigged ships, harbour quays, small boats and figures on shore, drawn in thin open line against pale paper: useful for masts, sail silhouettes and low horizon marine vignettes.
