The University prints. Student series D. Art of the Netherlands and Germany; five hundred reproductions illustrating the Flemish, Dutch, and German schools of painting, from the early fifteenth to the eighteenth century; German sculpture from the eleventh to the seventeenth century
A teaching portfolio of 500 halftone reproductions issued by the University Prints in Boston in 1907, assembled by Harry and Mary Powers for college art-history courses on Flemish, Dutch and German painting from the fifteenth to eighteenth centuries and German sculpture from the eleventh. The plates are small, high-contrast monochrome photographs of altarpieces, portraits and carved figures, giving designers crowded interior groups, architectural backdrops, drapery masses and heavy black shadow useful for silhouette and texture work.
