Valuable paintings by distinguished masters of the Barbizon, contemporaneous and American schools, together with several Barye bronzes
An auction sale catalogue issued by the American Art Association in New York in 1913, listing paintings from the Barbizon, contemporary European and American schools plus Barye bronzes drawn from several estates, printed for bidders and dealers. The halftone plates reproduce oil paintings in soft grey tones: misty river banks, silhouetted tree masses against pale skies, cattle and figures in pasture, with visible canvas grain and heavy vignetted edges useful as atmospheric backgrounds and tonal textures.
