Vantine's.
A 1917 mail-order trade catalogue from A.A. Vantine and Company of New York, the city's large importer of Asian goods, aimed at American household shoppers buying lacquer, silks, porcelain and curios. Halftone product photographs isolate single objects on plain grounds: drawstring silk bags with scattered embroidery, lacquer boxes with pine and grass motifs, a lined wicker sewing basket, useful for object cutouts, pattern motifs and period retail layout.
