Ignaz Schiffermüller's colour-system treatise, published in Vienna in 1772 by Augustin Bernardi with plates engraved by Ferdinand Landerer, written for naturalists and dyers classifying and naming hues. The images indexed here are the binding's marbled paper in rust, sage, and olive, showing snail-shell spirals, veined combed bands, and pale droplet chains usable as textured backgrounds, endpaper tiles, or swirl motifs.
