Vie d'une parisienne
A French comic picture-book of 1855, drawn by Gustave Doré with Marcelin and Lefils and issued in Paris by Maresq and Philipon fils, following a Parisienne's life through caricature for a popular humour readership. The 455 pen-line wood engravings show top-hatted dandies, crinolined women and street encounters in loose hatching against blank grounds, offering cut-out figures, gesture studies and period costume silhouettes.
