A view of the heavens
A popular astronomy primer by Amos Pettengill, printed at New Haven by N. Whiting in 1826 for young and general readers. The seven plates are plain relief-cut diagrams: labelled eclipse geometry with ruled light rays, a concentric solar-system chart naming Herschel and Saturn, and stippled star clusters rendered as fields of tiny crosses, usable as line stock and spot ornament.
