Villa Angiana, vulgo het Perc van Anguien
A suite of seventeen etched plates by Romeyn de Hooghe, published in Amsterdam by Nicolaes Visscher in 1685, recording the Arenberg gardens at Enghien in the Southern Netherlands for aristocratic patrons and print collectors. The wide horizontal views are built from fine hatched line, combining colonnades, grottoes, obelisks and fountain basins with scrolling parterre patterns and crowds of small figures in period dress; useful for architectural ornament, perspective staging and repeatable groundwork motifs.
