Vinnie Ream : printed for private distribution only; and to preserve a few souvenirs of artist life from 1865 to 1878
A privately printed memorial volume compiled in 1908 by Richard L. Hoxie in Washington, D.C., gathering photographs and papers documenting the sculpture career of his wife, Vinnie Ream, from 1865 to 1878, for circulation among family and friends. The plates are halftone photographs of marble busts and full-length statues, many vignetted in black ovals, with sharp white plaster forms against dense flat grounds: usable as cut-out profile silhouettes, portrait medallions, and drapery studies.
