The visitation of the county of Somerset in the year 1623
A Harleian Society edition, printed in London in 1876 by Mitchell and Hughes, of the 1623 heraldic visitation of Somerset recorded by the heralds Henry St George and Samson Lennard, edited by Frederic Thomas Colby for genealogists and antiquaries. The 170 line-engraved shields show quartered and impaled arms with crests, coronets and twisted wreaths, supplying hatched and stippled fills, charges such as lions, stags, arrows, garbs, fleurs-de-lis and birds, and clean shield outlines for badge and monogram work.
