The visitation of the county of Buckingham made in 1634 by John Philipot, esq. ...
A printed transcript of the 1634 heraldic visitation of Buckinghamshire by John Philipot and William Ryley, edited by W. Harry Rylands and issued in London in 1909 for genealogists and antiquarian societies. The 146 pictures are plain pen-drawn shields and crests, quartered and charged with griffins, lions, fleurs-de-lis, chevrons, birds and mullets, annotated with letters and numbers marking tinctures and quarters, useful as simple heraldic line motifs or as examples of coded, diagrammatic drawing.
