Visitation of England and Wales
A privately printed heraldic reference compiled by Joseph Jackson Howard and Frederick Arthur Crisp in London, 1893, recording the arms and pedigrees of English and Welsh families for genealogists and the families themselves. The plates are line-engraved achievements — shield, crest on a wreath or coronet, and a ribboned motto scroll — with ermine fields, repeating charges, lions, fleurs-de-lis and eagles' heads rendered in clean black hatching that reduces well to a logo or seal.
