Visitation of England and Wales
A privately printed genealogical reference compiled by Joseph Jackson Howard and Frederick Arthur Crisp in London in 1893, recording pedigrees and arms of English and Welsh families for subscribers and heraldic scholars. The line engravings show single shields with crests on torses and motto ribbons, drawn in flat black hatching and ermine spots — ready-made crests, banner scrolls and quartered field patterns.
