Visitation of England and Wales
A privately printed genealogical reference compiled by Joseph Jackson Howard and Frederick Arthur Crisp in London, 1893, recording pedigrees and arms of English and Welsh families for subscribers and heralds. The plates are engraved and line-drawn shields with crests, mantling, coronets, mottto scrolls, and hatched or stippled tinctures, offering ready-made blazon motifs: griffin and lion crests, heraldic roses, fleurs-de-lis, chevrons and ermine fields.
