A printed transcript of the College of Arms visitation of London taken by Henry and Richard St. George in 1633-35, edited by Joseph Jackson Howard and published in London in 1886 for genealogists and antiquaries tracing City families. The 485 illustrations are outline blocks of shields with quartered and charged fields, crests set on wreaths or coronets, and single letters (A, G, OR, AZ) marking tinctures, giving designers a stock of griffin heads, lions, heraldic roses, chevrons and bends in clean, flat linework.
