The visitation of London : anno Domini 1633, 1634, and 1635. Made by Sr. Henry St. George, kt., Richmond herald, and deputy and marshal to Sr. Richard St. George, kt., Clarencieux king of armes
A printed record of the heraldic visitation of London carried out by Henry and Richard St. George in 1633-35, edited by Joseph Jackson Howard and Joseph Lemuel Chester and issued in London in 1880 for genealogists and antiquaries. The 926 wood-engraved cuts show shields with quartered and charged fields beside crests on torses and coronets, hatched and lettered for tincture, giving designers a stock of compact black-and-white emblems: griffins, winged horses, stags, lion heads, roses, crescents and arrow-like pheons.
