Vite dei pittori antichi greci e latini
Guglielmo Della Valle's Vite dei pittori antichi greci e latini, printed in Siena by Pazzini Carli in 1795, collects biographies of ancient Greek and Roman painters for Italian antiquarians and art students. Eighteen copperplate portraits, several signed by A. Mochetti, set imagined bust-length heads in ruled medallions above framed name tablets, giving designers a repeatable roundel-and-label format, fine stipple and hatched shading, and a set of bearded classical profiles.
