Vite dei pittori ed artefici bolognesi
A multi-volume set of biographies of Bolognese painters and craftsmen compiled by the Marchese Antonio Bolognini Amorini and printed in Bologna in 1841 by the government press alla Volpe, aimed at local antiquarians and art historians. The plates here are printer's furniture rather than portraits: green and black marbled endpaper, small woodcut tailpieces of curling vine and ivy scrolls, and a vignette of stacked books with quill and inkpot, useful as section breaks, spot ornaments and pattern fills.
