Giorgio Vasari's lives of Italian painters, sculptors and architects, reprinted in 1767 at Livorno and Florence by Coltellini, Stecchi and Pagani for readers and collectors of art history. The plates are engraved bust portraits in profile or three-quarter view, each set in an oval within an architectural frame with cornices, scrollwork, seated putti, drawing boards and a lettered name tablet.
