Giorgio Vasari's lives of Italian painters, sculptors and architects, reprinted at Livorno and Florence in 1767 by Coltellini and by Stecchi and Pagani for readers and collectors of art history. The plates are engraved portrait medallions, each bust in profile or three-quarter view set in an oval frame with architectural surrounds, term figures, putti, broken pediments and a name tablet beneath, useful for frames, cartouches, decorative borders and profile heads.
