Vite de' pittori, scultori, ed architetti genovesi
Raffaele Soprani's biographies of Genoese painters, sculptors and architects, reissued in 1768 by the Casamara press in Genoa with engraved portraits by Giovanni Lorenzo Guidotti and others, for collectors and connoisseurs. Each plate sets a bust-length artist in an oval frame of scrollwork, laurel, masks and putti, with the name on a cartouche ribbon: ready-made portrait medallions, ornamental borders and label banners.
