The Wallace Collection at Hertford House
A. L. Baldry's 1904 folio survey of the Wallace Collection at Hertford House, issued in London and New York by Goupil for collectors and students of European painting. Photogravure plates reproduce French and Dutch pictures in warm sepia and deep brown-black, with fete galante garden parties, mythological groups, interiors of costumed figures, and peasant scenes rendered in soft tonal gradation useful for backgrounds, textures, and period figure silhouettes.
