Wall papers and cretonnes.
A 1915 wallpaper and cretonne trade catalogue issued by the G.G. Marvin Co. of Troy, New York, to show retail customers and decorators how its patterns looked installed. The color plates are room views — parlors, bedrooms, dining rooms — built almost entirely from pattern: striped and trellised wall fields, floral cut-out borders and frieze panels, matching cretonne curtains, patterned ceilings and Oriental carpets, with numbered pattern references and furniture kept sparse so the surfaces read clearly.
