A wanderer in Holland
E. V. Lucas's 1905 travel account of the Netherlands, published by Methuen in London for British readers touring Dutch towns and museums. The 53 plates are halftone reproductions of Dutch paintings and a few topographical views: tavern and kitchen interiors, ruffed portraits, harbour scenes with masts and windmills, all soft-edged and heavily darkened, useful as grainy monochrome texture, silhouetted rigging, or period costume reference.
