A. J. Pleasonton, and others, between the years 1861 and 1876. Addressed to the Philadelphia society for promoting agriculture.

A. J. Pleasonton, Harvey Cushing/John Hay Whitney Medical Library · 1876 · Philadelphia : Claxton, Remsen & Haffelfinger, 1876. · 2 pictures

A self-published-style scientific tract by Gen. Augustus J. Pleasonton, issued in Philadelphia in 1876 for the Philadelphia Society for Promoting Agriculture, arguing that blue light and blue glass stimulate plant and animal growth and cure disease. The few wood engravings are plain technical views — a brick chimney with a vented cowl, a glazed grapery seen in perspective — useful for line-hatched architectural detail and Victorian greenhouse forms.
