A short medical paper by Lyman Spalding, read to the New-York Historical Society in 1819 and printed in New York for physicians, arguing that scullcap could prevent rabies after animal bites. Its one plate is a hand-colored botanical figure of Scutellaria lateriflora drawn as a whole specimen, root to flowering tip, in flat green wash on warm laid paper with visible text showing through from the reverse.
