Atlas and epitome of traumatic fractures and dislocations / by H. Helferich ; auth. tr. from the German, ed. by Joseph C. Bloodgood.
A medical teaching atlas of bone fractures and joint dislocations by the German surgeon Heinrich Helferich, translated and edited by Joseph C. Bloodgood and issued by W. B. Saunders in Philadelphia and London in 1902 for surgeons and medical students. The plates mix tinted lithographs of femurs, tibiae and joint heads in ochre and buff with pen-and-ink cross-hatched line drawings of fracture lines and bone interiors, giving designers isolated bone silhouettes, sectioned trabecular textures and fine engraving-style shading.
