A medical treatise of 1842 by the Aylesbury surgeon Robert Ceely, published in London by J. Churchill for physicians and vaccinators studying cowpox and smallpox inoculation. Alongside the coloured engravings of vaccine lesions promised on the title page, the plates reproduced here are dense ruled tables of barometer and thermometer readings, hospital admissions by month and sex, and disease tallies by year, useful as period grid structures, small-figure numerals and column rules.
