An introduction to medical botany : illustrated with coloured figures / by Thomas Castle, F.L.S.
A students' manual of medical botany by Thomas Castle, issued in London by E. Cox in 1829 for apprentice apothecaries and medical pupils learning to identify officinal plants. The pages here are letterpress tables rather than plates: numbered lists pairing Linnaean class and order with natural order, native soil and habit, and two-column glossaries translating Monandria through Polygynia into counts of stamens and pistils, useful as period specimens of tabular typesetting, ruled columns and abbreviation keys.
