A two-volume veterinary treatise by Edward Coleman, professor at the London Veterinary College, published for the author in London between 1798 and 1802 for farriers, horse owners, and veterinary students. Copperplate engravings by George Kirtland show the underside of the horse's hoof with sole, frog, and bars shaded in fine line, alongside outline diagrams of shoes, nail placement, and paring knives, with plate numbers and engraved imprint lines usable as ready-made technical figures.
