Warne's model cookery and housekeeping book : containing complete instructions in household management, and receipts for breakfast dishes ... bills of fare, duties of servants, etc. / compiled and edited by Mary Jewry.
A Victorian household manual compiled by Mary Jewry, published by Frederick Warne in London and Scribner in New York in 1871 for middle-class housekeepers and their servants. The wood engravings are small butchery diagrams and kitchen figures: joints of beef, mutton and veal lettered A to E to mark cutting lines, trussed poultry, and utensils, all drawn in dense parallel hatching against blank ground, useful as line-art silhouettes, meat-cut charts, and instructional labelling.
