A medical monograph on pulmonary tuberculosis by the Philadelphia physician and craniologist Samuel George Morton, published by Key & Biddle in 1834 for physicians and anatomy students, with twelve plates drawn and coloured from dissections. The hand-coloured lithographs show sectioned lungs, intestines and tubercular cavities in mottled pink, olive, rust and black, offering irregular organic silhouettes, stippled and marbled textures, and a muted flesh-toned palette.
