The plates here are letterpress pages of the dispensatory: small-capital headings like COMMON DECOCTION and INFUSION OF LINSEED, italic recipe lines giving weights and boiling times, roman commentary below, long s throughout, and signature marks such as "3 S" — usable as period type specimens, textual backgrounds, and apothecary label copy.
