Colin Milne's botanical dictionary, a systematic reference to plant terms published in London by Bye & Law for H.D. Symonds in 1805, for students and amateur botanists learning Linnaean description. The engraved plates, drawn by Sydenham Edwards, group numbered figures of flowers, dissected blooms, seed vessels and leaf forms against blank grounds, giving designers small isolated botanical shapes and ready-made grid arrangements of specimens.
