A public-health report by Sir G. Sims Woodhead for the Metropolitan Asylums Board, printed in London in 1899, setting out bacteriological diagnosis and antitoxin serum treatment of hospital cases from 1895-96 for medical officers and administrators. The plates are letterpress statistical tables: age bands from "Under 1" to "30 and upwards", columns of figures broken by ellipsis leaders, ruled totals and mortality-per-cent rows, useful as tinted grid texture, numeric ornament, or period tabular typography.
