The wood-engraved figures show nude and half-dressed patients demonstrating massage strokes, bandaging and compresses, with arrows and numbered keys marking direction of pressure, plus botanical and fungus plates; useful for line-drawn anatomical gesture, hatched shading and numbered diagram conventions.
