[Aristotle's works.].
A cheap London chapbook edition of the pseudo-Aristotle midwifery and generation manual, printed for the booksellers around 1890 and sold to lay readers as a household guide to conception, pregnancy and "monstrous" births. The 19 crude line woodcuts show standing infants with extra arms, conjoined twins and hair-covered bodies, offering designers stark outline figures with hatched shadows and puddle-shaped ground lines.
