A treatise on some practical points relating to the diseases of the eye / by the late John Cunningham Saunders; to which is added, a short account of the author's life, and his method of curing the congenital cataract, by his friend and colleague, J. R. Farre. The whole illustrated by colour engravings.
A London ophthalmic treatise of 1811 by surgeon John Cunningham Saunders, completed after his death by his colleague J. R. Farre and aimed at practitioners treating eye disease and congenital cataract. Hand-coloured engravings show single eyes in close-up, each with lashes, lid margin and tear duct drawn in fine line and the iris rendered as radiating fibres in brown, green or grey around pupils clouded or misshapen by disease; useful for iris textures, isolated anatomical close-ups and pale flesh-and-ochre colouring.
