A German handbook of poisonous plants written by Johann Samuel Halle and published in Berlin in 1784, meant to help ordinary households recognize toxic plants and treat poisoning. The 26 hand-coloured engravings show single specimens against bare cream paper, with dark green leaves, yellow or purple-veined flowers, and small inset details of berries and seed capsules, plus German and Latin captions in engraved script.
