A gem dealer's handbook by the London mineralogist John Mawe, printed for the author in 1823 for jewellers, lapidaries and collectors. Engraved plates give line diagrams of brilliant and rose cuts in plan, profile and section, crystal forms in outline, and hand-coloured rows of cabochons, agates and rough specimens useful as faceting geometry and small jewel spot illustrations.
