A short veterinary-comparative anatomy paper by Robert Paterson, physician to the Leith Dispensary, printed in Edinburgh by John Stark around 1840 for medical readers studying the corpus luteum. Hand-coloured lithographed plates set ovaries of cow, sow, bitch and cat in ruled boxes, with orange and pink blobs floating on grey stipple and italic captions and numbered keys.
