The history and present state of discoveries relating to vision, light, and colours / By Joseph Priestley.
Joseph Priestley's 1772 survey of research on vision, light and colour, printed in London for J. Johnson and addressed to readers of natural philosophy. The folding copperplates carry numbered figures in fine line: ray traces through lenses and prisms, telescope and eye sections, a labelled colour wheel, and concentric bands of light, all usable as spare geometric line art or diagram furniture.
