The costume of the Russian Empire, illustrated by a series of seventy-three engravings / With descriptions in English and French.
A London costume plate book of 1803, issued by W. Miller with seventy-three hand-coloured engravings after William Alexander and parallel English and French text, aimed at British collectors curious about the peoples of the Russian Empire. Each plate isolates a single standing figure against bare paper, front or back, showing embroidered tunics, sashes, fur caps, beaded collars and striped aprons in flat watercolour washes usable as cut-out figures or pattern sources.
