An anthology of pieces from Cope's Tobacco Plant, the house magazine of the Liverpool tobacco firm Cope Bros & Co., issued in 1893 for smokers and trade customers. The pictures are narrow horizontal pen vignettes in near-solid black, showing men sprawled on the ground with pipes, terriers, wide hats and curling smoke, usable as rules, headpieces and strip borders.
