Charles Lamb, in pipefuls / selected and arranged by Walter Lewin.
An 1890 anthology of Charles Lamb extracts on smoking, selected by Walter Lewin and issued in Liverpool by the cigarette firm Cope's Tobacco Plant as a cheap threepenny giveaway for its customers. Loose pen-and-ink cartoons signed H. Taylor show pipe-smoking soldiers, back views of stout men and a figure bursting through a lettered door, alongside a gold-and-black cover silhouette of a smoker — usable as spot figures, hand-lettered signage and cover borders.
